On Friday 25 March 2022, the technical teams of the SAVASCO consortium met face-to-face for the first time at the ETSAV (Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura del Vallès) of the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
The objective was to present the progress of the different actions and to allow exchanges on technical issues in the presence of the associated partners who brought their experience.
In the afternoon, the consortium met outside to visit the site of the future Spanish prototype and the laboratories where the various composites being studied are manufactured: lightweight earth blocks made from corn and sunflower granulates and insulation panels made from sunflower pith.
The visit provided an opportunity to see the results of the characterisation of the materials that will be used for the prototype.
The consortium would like to thank the members of ARESO (Association Régionale d’Eco-construction du Sud-Ouest) and the magazine Ecohabitar, who are closely following the progress of the project and who have also actively participated in discussions and provided advice.
