The INP (Institut National Polytechnique) of Toulouse, UT3 (Université Toulouse 3) Paul Sabatier, the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and the FCAC (Federation of Cooperatives of Catalonia) met on September 7, 2020 at the Castelló d’Empúries Agricultural Cooperative, which is part of the cooperatives attached to the FCAC.
The meeting served to define the methods of harvesting and conditioning the stalks of corn and sunflower with the FCAC and the cooperative chosen by the FCAC for this work.
The stems will be sent to the Halle Agromat of LCA (Laboratoire de Chimie Agro-Industrielle) of the INP Toulouse in Tarbes, where they will be divided into pith and rind as part of the project. Half of the marrow and bark fractions produced will be sent to the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), in Barcelona.
Finally, this day brought together stakeholders in the project, especially those involved in the action of collecting stalks of corn and sunflower and start structuring the actors network.
